Barry Bracken
Vce President:
Sunny Rice
Donald Holmes
Scott Roberge
Members at Large:
Julianne Curry
  Dennis Rogers
  Kelli Woods
  Lee Ribich

Barry Bracken

Barry is the owner/operator of Kaleidoscope Cruises, a marine eco-tour business which specializes in whale-watching and glacier tours. He is a retired marine biologist whose professional interest was marine fisheries.

Barry has worked with whale researchers since his retirement, both in an active and advisory role. He is trained in large whale disentanglement and marine mammal necropsy.

Marine mammals are a major part of our marine ecosystem. A better understanding of population numbers, food preferences, and animal behavior is increasingly important as both human on-water activities and marine mammal populations increase. Barry’s hope is that the Center can continue to help support finding answers to some of those questions. Barry is a founding member of PMMC, and has served on the Board since inception in 1998.

Julianne Curry

Executive Director of the Petersburg Vessel Owners Association www.pvoaonline.org and commercial fisherman.

Exploring collaborative efforts related to whale and sea otter interaction with local sport, subsistence, and commercial fisheries. Julianne has served on the PMMC Board since 2006.

PVOA is happy to partner with PMMC and work towards a greater understanding of marine mammals and coastal resource users in Petersburg.

Don Holmes

Current charter boat Captain of the M/V JUNO and former public school teacher for science and technology classes.

Don frequently assists with distressed marine mammals and is interested in furthering the goals of the Center. Don is a founding member of PMMC, and has served on the Board since inception in 1998.

Scott Roberge

Started Tongass Kayak Adventures in 1984 to help show people some of the wonders of Southeast.

Scott came to Petersburg as a college student in the late 70’s to work the seafood industry and never left. He became involved with PMMC at the end of the 90’s and has served on the Board since 2005.

Dennis Rogers

Kellii has been fascinated with marine mammals (and all sea life) since she was a little girl from watching the grey whale migration from the rocky shores of Northern California.  Her main focus with PMMC has been with educating future generations about the marine life that surrounds them, and she is the lead coordinator for the Summer Marine Science Series with local youth. Kellii has served on the Board since 2008.
